Fertilization program + weed control
Four (4) applications of organic and slow release lawn fertilization treatment which will give your grass the nutriments needed for a healthy and dense lawn that will crowd out weeds. During the weed growing season, we will apply locally a weed killer to control the wide leaf weeds. Our full program customers will receive free resprays and free service calls. This is the minimum program for your grass! For customers wishing to have a better looking lawn, we recommend a Neutramag treatment, which is a granular amendment of calcium and magnesium, plus a fall aeration.

Why is my lawn yellow?
Several factors can contribute to the yellowing of a lawn: insects, diseases, very hot temperature, dryness, excessive moisture, physical damage… At Groupe Jardins Brossard and Traitements de Pelouse La Prairie, the service calls are free for our customers. Why is my lawn yellower than my neighbors?
Several factors can explain this phenomenon (other than the proverb). Often, cultural practices like the mowing height is too short, there is a lack of irrigation, a poor spring preparation and no aeration. There are also the type, the thickness of soil and the quality of the sod when establish.
When is the first lawn treatment done?
The first treatment is done from May to mid-June, depending on the temperature of the ground and the type of fertilizer used. We begin our treatments by sectors and according to the reception date of the contracts.
How do I know if a treatment has been done?
When we use a granular fertilizer, you will be able to see the granules. If we use a liquid fertilizer, we use an organic fertilizer, you may sometimes smell a light and temporary odor, your lawn is slightly brilliant and sticky. You may also have temporary brown traces on the bottom of the fence or the pavement. Furthermore, you will always have an explanatory note in your mailbox or at the door.
How do I know if the entire lawn has been treated?
After a few days, you will notice the grass will be greener and the deterioration of weeds, if a weed killer was applied. Contrary to several companies, our technicians do not have any daily quota, they are remunerated by the hour and not by piece-work so they have no interest in cutting corners.
When can my children and my dog use the lawn?
If it is granular fertilizer, there is no delay. In the case of liquid fertilizer, I would recommend to wait until the product is dry. If there was an application of weed control, I would recommend a light watering, the following day, to be 100% safe.
Do I have to fertilize my lawn every year?
Yes, the lawn is a plant which needs to be nourished every year. Our nutritive solution for the lawn, supplies all the major elements (Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) and minors (Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, Cobalt, Aluminum, Manganese, Copper…) as well as micronutrients (iron, Sulfur…) necessary to the good health of your lawn.
Following the installation of a new lawn, how long before the first fertilization?
4 to 6 weeks, according to the period of the year and the temperature. Ideally at the time of a lawn’s installation, a fertilizer with phosphorus should be added to the ground.
Granular or liquid fertilization?
Both have advantages and disadvantages. A professional company will be able to alternate throughout the season, according to the temperature, the type of ground and fertilizer in order to provide the good nutritive elements in the best format and at the right time.
